Creating a Little Fashion Dream: 🌈Rainbows, Unicorns🦄 + BOWIE⚡!

It doesn't seem that long ago that I made a rainbow inspired 5th birthday outfit, and, as irony would have it, I have done it yet again! That was the challenge: how to make an equally beautiful rainbow-inspired outfit without being repetitive. These girls are so unique; they truly have their own styles and personalities! Sephira is a free spirit that is candid with pretty much everything! I tried hard to tie in all the things she wanted (she frequently wants to be at least seven different things all at once) and keep it cohesive.

The Magnificent Vivie! Piecing tutorial and Blaverry Pattern Review!

The Vivie Dress PDF Pattern by Blaverry.  The Vivie was actually the first Blaverry pattern I ever bought!  I was searching frantically for a first day of school dress to make for Azriella the day before school was set to start!  I found the Vivie, fell in love with the Blaverry patterns on a whole and it is one of my favorite, everyday dresses for Azriella at this age.  It just fits her so well!  I never blogged it because I was busy making her birthday dress then the cavalcade of Halloween sewing so I never got a chance to give it a proper photo-shoot!

KCW Spring 2016 Part 2: Sleepin With Deh Fishies

It's literally has been yeeears since I planned to make, on time, and post, on time, for Kids Clothes Week!  I am making this year my most creative yet because I had a bit of a misstep motivation wise last year, so LOOK OUT!  I am planning some big changes so I am feeling all this drive and fire to just GO BIG!My plan came together as soon as I heard the KCW theme was TOYS.  I went straight away to drafting out lil buddies to stitch into their outfits (because if I don't, they'll just lose em'!) so they can play with them whenever they wear them!  I love making things with little surprises!

KCW TOYS: TANGRAM DRESSES! Spring 16' Part 1 of 2

We go all out for Christmas Eve. I make special dresses for the girls and then pajamas for everyone for Christmas Day! This year the theme was tangrams. I custom designed fabric through Spoonflower and used the Madelyn pattern by Violette Fields Threads as a base for the dress bodice. I used Kona cottons for all of the skirts and collars which I paper pieced and drafted myself. While it was quite a long process to plan out, I couldn't have asked for better results! I figured now would be a good time to share them because it's just in time for the Kids Clothes Week Challenge this Spring: TOYS edition!

My Panda Pi. Akira's First Birthday Outfit!

Guess who JUST turned 1?!  I mean, I can hardly believe it myself!  As hard as I tried to keep her my tiny baby forever (I mean how much coffee and junk food to you need to feed a baby to keep her small?  TOTALLY KIDDING, OF COURSE!!!), she just keeps growing and growing!  Sheesh!  The weird thing is she doesn't seem to change physically at all!  I mean, sure she gets taller but her face looks the same as it did when she was six months old!  And man, oh, man do I love that face!

Sew Geeky Studio Ghibli! Nausicaä! Calcifer! Forest Spirit!

I told myself that I wouldn’t go over the top; that I want to keep Sew Geeky a little more casual so that I don’t burn myself out trying to outdo myself every month. It’s exhausting! It also makes me struggle to make other things; the essential things. BUT STUDIO GHIBLI?! I could not go small. I just couldn’t! Ugh, I am my own worst enemy, I know! Narrowing it down was incredibly hard. I have the urge to STUDIO GHIBLI ALL THE THINGS!

Sew Geeky Marvel vs DC Episode!

Good morning to you!  ^_^ It’s time for Sew Geeky’s newest episode: Marvel vs DC! We didn’t want to do just Superheroes.  We wanted to spice it up a bit, so we did a Marvel vs Detective Comics (aka DC) theme! So I decided to go with a hero vs villain approach for my outfits. I give you retro Catwoman and chibi Loki!

rainbows & wildflowers. the edelweiss blog tour

Greetings all! I hope your summer is going well!  I was asked to be a part of a fantastic blog tour by { affiliate linksAdrianna of the Crafterhours girls and Hey June Patterns for her latest pattern: the Edelweiss dress.  The pattern includes two options for styling: a dress or a tunic.  I thought how fun would it be to do a tunic for a change!  Seems like I'm always making dresses!  Also, Adrianna is one of the funniest, sweetest people on the blogisphere and I heart her very much!
