🌈Pattern Release! 👽 The Touka Sweater + FREE PATTERN: Drawstring Charms!

Sometimes, amazing patterns stay in the vaults for way too long. I drafted the first version of the Touka Sweater in October 2017 for Halloween sweaters for my kiddos. It quickly became my go-to pattern for sweater-making because it was so quick and so easy. I used it for almost every holiday at least once since then! I was constantly putting other newer patterns ahead of the Touka until a few months ago when I declared the time was neigh! I must turn the Touka Sweater I’d loved for so long into a real-life pattern!

Week 2: 🍦 Ice Cream & Sundays! 🎀

This week, the challenge was to design and create something entirely from your preexisting stash of fabrics! I wanted to make some really sweet, super playful and girly looks! The fashion I like to make my kiddos is reflective of their bubbly and silly personalities: bright, diverse, and, most importantly, with a sense of humor. So for my 4 year old, I wanted to make something that I knew she would love: 🍦Ice Cream🍦! To pair up with the chartreuse neoprene, I wanted the ice cream part to be bubblegum pink. I looked to my stash for a print that would complement those two colors and chose a pink floral (as well as a matching pinkish red polka-dot cotton fabric) for an outfit for my 6-year-old. "Where are these girls (in these dresses) going?" Brunch! These two little ladies are getting all dressed up for a Sunday afternoon in downtown Portland, in one of the many hipster neighborhoods, the Hawthorne district, enjoying some eats and stopping at a few shops along the way! So that's why I decided to call this week: Ice Cream and Sundays (pun intended! 😊)
