the blueberry social!

Goooood Morning!

Sportwear challenge this week for Project Run & Play!  I did a yoked pleated skirt with an elastic back and flat front waistband and contrast binding for the hem, resized a pair of socks, made a little headband (with adjustable back... check below post for the how-to!), and a sweet little bubble blouse I drafted with puff sleeves, peter pan collar with a school girl knot bow detail, and a comfortable knit fabric waistband to create the bubble effect!  I wasn't sure how much "sport" to put into this challenge so I was looking for  a 1920's tennis outfit with a modern feel.  I tried looking for a tennis set, but only could find a badminton one, ha!  The pieces to this are so versatile (either the blouse or the skirt could be dressed up or dressed down) and are made of cotton so they are easily washed!

Since this was such a new top for me to make, I have a rule:  When in doubt, try it out!  So I made a test run shirt before this one to see what kinks I needed to work out.  It also turned out soo cute that I am now making a matching (I know- can you believe it ;-) skirt and will be posting on it soon!  If you like this little top and would like to make one for yourself, I took a bunch of pics along the way of making this one so, yes, there will be a tutorial coming soon!  That's all for now!  Off to Goodwill for the next challenge!!!!
