💎chibi Taemin "Criminal" Lookbook! + Ender and Cake Dragons!

Happy Autumn everyone! Today I’m sharing the outfits that I made for the girls for Halloween this year! All of the outfits were particularly tricky compared to previous years, but it was definitely fun to make them! This time we had a little Ender Dragon from Minecraft, a big Cake Dragon from Roblox, and one chibi sized Lee Taemin from his *latest music video “Criminal” (*at the time of writing this). A little farther down this post, you can see all about the two dragons, but I did a little something different for my chibi Taemin: I made it into a Lookbook describing the whole process and backstory on the outfit! I hope you enjoy them! I don’t normally try to do exact replicas when I do costumes because I like interpreting them in my own way, but this one was already so unique! I really studied the video and tried so hard to make it look like Taemin’s outfit (from the middle of the video). Please take a peek at the Lookbook by clicking the image or button below and tell me how you think it came out!! 😊

Disclaimer: This post is not affiliated with Minecraft, Roblox, or SM Entertainment in any way. These outfits are not for sale however the base sewing pattern for the Dragon sweaters is available in my shop!

See if you can spot any of these poses in the Lookbook!

Dragon Girls!

Ender Dragon from Minecraft

For Akira’s Ender Dragon outfit, I used the Touka Sweater PDF Pattern in my shop! I made it in a size 6 View A using the flap pocket option with a purple tongue and black, boxy nostrils. I used a minky fabric from Joann’s Fabric, with some scraps of fabrics from my stash for the details. To make the sleeves look more wing-like, I altered the inseam to come to points. The hard part was all of those boxes! I made a box pattern and then stuffed them with batting and hand stitched them to the the shoulders back of the sweater, and the removeable tail. She is so smitten with her sweater; she begged to wear it a week before Halloween and she’s still asking to wear it today!

Cake Dragon from Roblox

My eldest is obsessed with Roblox. She wasn’t really sure what she wanted to be for Halloween other than a dragon of some kind because she loves dragons. It’s no surprise, since I’ve made her many dragon related things in the past! She opted for a cute, sprinkled Chocolate Cake Dragon! Oh man, did her outfit have a bunch of pieces! I used the Touka Sweater Pattern, again, in a size 13/14Y, View C with the kangaroo pocket and a detachable tail in this soft and cuddly fabric also from Joann’s Fabrics. I altered the sleeves to swoop like the Cake Dragon’s wings and instead of doing a contrasting back on the sleeve, I did a center stripe to look more accurate. The hood is detachable and was quite nerve-wracking to make! The Cake Dragon has horns that curl all the way back plus an adorable candle at the tip of his nose! I made a horn and a candle pattern plus the box pattern from the Ender Dragon sweater. To make it look boxier, I pin-tucked the horns and to make them curl, I adding wire along with the batting. Gosh, I think these outfits will go down as some of the most hand-stitching that I have ever done (including the Taemin outfit. That eyepatch was essentially completely hand-beaded.). For her pants, I used the Anima Pattern by Papercut in the XXS, contrasting them with white in the back because she didn’t want just brown pants, lol. Then I appliqued sprinkles all over the thing in the same way it looks in the game (as I did my best with the colors I had on hand!). It’s so super cozy, she’d wear it every day if I’d let her!

Usually, we would have gone trick or treating, but we opted to stay in instead to keep healthy. To be honest, I haven’t even been inside of a store since March! We did manage to uphold some of our traditions like sushi for dinner and watching Donnie Darko. To make up for trick or treating door to door, we threw a Halloween party instead! We set up a indoor/outdoor trick or treat hunt around the house and yard, we ate lots of yummy cheeses and candies, and I made a cheese fondue as well as chocolate zucchini cupcakes with chocolate buttercream! The girls proclaimed it was the best Halloween ever and that made me so happy!!!

Thanks for checking out our Halloween costumes this year! What did you do for Halloween? xoxo- Kat.
