VILLAIN PART II. It’s my turn!!!🥰 I sew for myself (to blog) so infrequently I think it’s been about 6 years😳!!! I tend to have lots of ambition to make myself SHINee handmades but I always prioritize myself last so it never gets done in time🥲. So I had decided on Azriella’s neon green villain plague doctor outfit, but I couldn’t help but be compelled to make the other villain outfit too! However I’m always pressed for time around Halloween, so I figured I would make only a few parts of the outfit and use other things from my closet for the rest!

In all my days blogging, I think this is the first time I ever planned a second birthday outfit from the start! You see, Sephira really couldn’t decide between the Weekend Boy outfit and the Lemon Girl outfit! The Lemon Girl is the person Onew is trying to save throughout the video and in the end, Lemon Girl is the one who ends up saving him!!! We all thought it was such a badass, empowering moment in the video and Sephira thought that was just so cool.

Happy Summer Everyone!!! Earlier this month, Sephira turned 11! I wish these kids would slow down already! This year she asked for the Weekend Boy bellhop look Onew (SHINee’s leader) wore in his recent solo music video “DICE”! The video is so bright and colorful and fun and weird and it just makes you smile! Keep reading for more all about the outfit!

This year marked the end of both middle school for Azriella and elementary school for Sephira! There was event after event for all three of the girls and sooooooo much stuff happening around here that I have been so far behind keeping up with it all and sharing it in a timely manner! I did manage to make two, last-minute things for my two celebrating girlies!

This is something I have been wanting to do for 7 years now. Wow. I can't believe it took that long to get around to making this outfit but now that it's done, not only was it worth the wait but, I sincerely couldn't imagine it any other way!

As she got older, she naturally gained new interests but Bowie and Man Man, and SHINee have always stayed at the forefront in her heart. She said she wanted to do Life on Mars for Easter and I told her how I was planning on doing a Helium (from Key's Bad Love album) x Life on Mars crossover. It was an obvious collaboration considering Key himself mentioned how this album was heavily influenced by his long-time admiration of David Bowie😱🤯This project is so important to me and to Sephira, as it’s that something I've been planning for almost a decade! I truly hope you enjoy hearing all about the process! HAPPY SHINee DAY!!!!

If I had to use one word to describe how I felt about this shirt, it would intimidated. I was full-on intimidated by the construction of this shirt. At first glance, it’s pretty unassuming. But when I had to knit-pick all of the details that make it come together, my brain hurt😅😵‍💫 . I know you might not believe me (my mother didn’t!), but this shirt was arguably more difficult to draft than Sephira’s Helium/Life on Mars outfit in its entirety! I’m not kidding!

This year marks my 10th year blogging at Sew Chibi Designs!!! 🥳🥳🥳 I don’t think I could have ever imagined all the things I would create, the friendships I would make, and the way I developed my not only my sewing skills but my photography, photo editing, pattern drafting, graphics making, sewing tutorial e-booking from non-existent to things I’m really proud of!!!

I already went into major detail about both Azriella’s outfit and Sephira’s outfit, so, for this post, I’m going to focus on Akira’s outfit and the group shots I got of them at the Rose Garden.

HAPPY SHINee DAY!!!!! Today is the 14th anniversary of the group's stage debut and I have something really special to share with you!!!

After watching the Groks from the Keyland concert, we all went completely😍over the pink, plaid outfits Key and the dancers wore for his latest song "Saturday Night"… and then he did the same look in lime green for his Music Core stage! Both of my older girls are totally into the crop tops and plaid skirts or high-waisted pants look, and they loved the mix-matched dancers' outfits.

Soon after its release, the holidays were coming up and it was soon time to pick our theme for the year and they were torn between Harry Potter and Saturday Night. I mentioned that the two could easily be blended together in an epic mash-up and both of the girls were super excited!! For Akira’s outfit, I went a different direction and made her a doe Patronus, pulling inspiration from an earlier Key video/song, called Forever Yours. I named her outfit, "Forever Your Patronus."

Akira just turned 8! EIGHT!!!! WOW. I still can’t get over it! She is still head over heels for all things animals!! For her birthday theme, she requested a Rainbow Unicorn MeeMeow!

💜Time for the Project Run & Play Pantone Party again!💜 The Color of the Year for 2022 is “Very Peri” and I made a custom fabric design, courtesy of Raspberry Creek Fabrics (affiliate link), using the exact hex code for this year’s color! It was a lot of fun drafting and designing the whole look (inspired by this stage look) and Sephira and I are so squeaky giddy over the end result! 😊
