KCWC Spring 2013 Day 6: Her Lazy Day Brights
KCWC Spring 2013 Day 6:
Her Lazy Day Brights
Patterns Used:
Shirt: Doli Tank PDF Pattern Courtesy of LouBee Clothing
Skirt: "A Sunny Spot" Japanese Pattern Book, Pattern I
Pattern Deviations:
Skirt: I omitted a hem for the skirt and opted for serging the underskirt hem and just stay stitching and fray checking the over-skirt.
I'm so please to be making a quantity of summery pieces that I know will get tons of use!!! One quick note about my choices for the skirt: I have always been a sucker for a raw edged look but had never really done it! I serged the under-skirt because I fear that it would just fray completely away if I did not and I don't think it really shows which is good. The purple linen has a fuchsia stay-stitching 1/4" away from the edge and fray checked it (which won't touch her skin so I didn't worry that it would be uncomfortable) . I did it twice and made sure that it wasn't perfect to go along with the comfy casual look of the outfit. I think it captures beauty, color, and girly fluff without being at all fussy. And that is exactly what I was looking for!!!
Come on back tomorrow for more!!!
