This week, the challenge was to design and create something entirely from your preexisting stash of fabrics! I wanted to make some really sweet, super playful and girly looks! The fashion I like to make my kiddos is reflective of their bubbly and silly personalities: bright, diverse, and, most importantly, with a sense of humor. So for my 4 year old, I wanted to make something that I knew she would love: 🍦Ice Cream🍦! To pair up with the chartreuse neoprene, I wanted the ice cream part to be bubblegum pink. I looked to my stash for a print that would complement those two colors and chose a pink floral (as well as a matching pinkish red polka-dot cotton fabric) for an outfit for my 6-year-old. "Where are these girls (in these dresses) going?" Brunch! These two little ladies are getting all dressed up for a Sunday afternoon in downtown Portland, in one of the many hipster neighborhoods, the Hawthorne district, enjoying some eats and stopping at a few shops along the way! So that's why I decided to call this week: Ice Cream and Sundays (pun intended! 😊)
Today is a super special day.
As soon as I started Sew Chibi 6 years ago, I followed Project Run & Play. It was the most integral part of socializing among the sewing community back then and without it, I doubt I would have met and become close with so many of my favorite bloggers. It's been a forever dream to be asked to be a designer so this, all of this, fills me with so much emotion and drives me to do every single thing I can do to give you all a good show, full of surprises throughout the competition (hopefully throughout the competition 😉). So, without further ado, I present my Circus Week Collection entitled "Mon Cirque des Petites Filles" (my circus of little girls).

It doesn't seem that long ago that I made a rainbow inspired 5th birthday outfit, and, as irony would have it, I have done it yet again! That was the challenge: how to make an equally beautiful rainbow-inspired outfit without being repetitive. These girls are so unique; they truly have their own styles and personalities! Sephira is a free spirit that is candid with pretty much everything! I tried hard to tie in all the things she wanted (she frequently wants to be at least seven different things all at once) and keep it cohesive.
It's one of my FAVORITE times of the year! HALLOWEEN!! While I am in the middle of making all the things for the kiddos, I thought it'd be quite festive to do a list of my favorite cosplay/dress-up posts of all time! So! Let's get STARTED and check out my spooky, top 13 dress-up posts ever!!
🍂🍁Happy Autumn everybody!🍁 🍂 Today I'm reviewing the brand new Berlin Coat PDF Pattern by Straightgrain! While I did get this pattern for free for as part of this wooly cool tour (😉), as always, my opinions are my own. And my opinion about this coat pattern is that it is awesomesauce! If you are looking for that one perfect winter coat pattern, then you'll want to keep on reading!
The French macarons are some of the most beautiful desserts around and we love indulging in them! I had had the notion for a while that it would be so sweet (ha!) to make a trio of delectable dresses someday. When springtime came around, I went to my party dress pattern stash and found the Caroline Dress! I knew I'd have to do a generous amount of planning and redrafting but it but soooo worth it in the end!
SUMMERTIME!!!! Time to break out the swimsuits!!! If you're like me, you constantly feel like you're buying new swimsuits! I especially LOVE rash guards since the coastal waters here get a bit frigid!
Well! If you up for a bit of summer sewing, there's a new rash guard pattern on the block you should get! I made 3, one for each kiddo, as part of the Summer Swimwear Tour, hosted by Call Ajaire!
