Read MoreAnother Easter passed during the pandemic! Last year was a really bizarre one for everyone, us included, but after a year of self-quarantining, we learned how to make the best of things! I wanted to do something colorful but in a different way than I’d done in the past. Originally, the plan was holographic vinyl and neon elastic cording and white but I found it impossible to find colorful cording that wasn’t super skinny (and that was just not the look I was going for!). So I ended up having to quickly change up some of my plans!

Read MoreSix years ago, if you told me I'd be one of the final 3 designers on Project Run & Play, I'm not sure I would have believed you! This is totally one of those "pinch me, this can't be real" moments! I'm forever grateful to everyone who has supported and cheered me on! It's been a staggeringly talented season and each designer really gave it their all! I've been hoping to make it to this week because I really wanted to let loose! In the words of last season's winner, Pearberry Lane: this is us! We're silly, expressive, purposefully mismatched, happy, and a little weird! We're constantly evolving and learning new cultures and trying new ideas out and so I wanted to create a collection that reflects just that! I call this summery collection Our Kawaii Life!
Read MoreThis week, the challenge was to design and create something entirely from your preexisting stash of fabrics! I wanted to make some really sweet, super playful and girly looks! The fashion I like to make my kiddos is reflective of their bubbly and silly personalities: bright, diverse, and, most importantly, with a sense of humor. So for my 4 year old, I wanted to make something that I knew she would love: 🍦Ice Cream🍦! To pair up with the chartreuse neoprene, I wanted the ice cream part to be bubblegum pink. I looked to my stash for a print that would complement those two colors and chose a pink floral (as well as a matching pinkish red polka-dot cotton fabric) for an outfit for my 6-year-old. "Where are these girls (in these dresses) going?" Brunch! These two little ladies are getting all dressed up for a Sunday afternoon in downtown Portland, in one of the many hipster neighborhoods, the Hawthorne district, enjoying some eats and stopping at a few shops along the way! So that's why I decided to call this week: Ice Cream and Sundays (pun intended! 😊)

I can't think of a better way to celebrate the season than with a new twirly dress! When Olga invited me to be a part of her fantastic blog tour, I was super giddy! I've been smitten with the Polina Dress since I first saw it and when we went through all of the Coffee + Thread dress options, my little girl feel in looove with the Polina pattern as well! So, to tie the whole look together, I made a pair of Wild and Free Lounge Pants and a few, fun accessories , and the result was nothing short of magical!

We stumbled upon the conversation of what her birthday outfit should look like. I told her she could help design it (since I am a part of an affiliate program with My Fabric Designs). Well, this little puppy girl of mine came up with the idea of animals playing instruments! How fun!
Read MoreIt doesn't seem that long ago that I made a rainbow inspired 5th birthday outfit, and, as irony would have it, I have done it yet again! That was the challenge: how to make an equally beautiful rainbow-inspired outfit without being repetitive. These girls are so unique; they truly have their own styles and personalities! Sephira is a free spirit that is candid with pretty much everything! I tried hard to tie in all the things she wanted (she frequently wants to be at least seven different things all at once) and keep it cohesive.
