In all my days blogging, I think this is the first time I ever planned a second birthday outfit from the start! You see, Sephira really couldn’t decide between the Weekend Boy outfit and the Lemon Girl outfit! The Lemon Girl is the person Onew is trying to save throughout the video and in the end, Lemon Girl is the one who ends up saving him!!! We all thought it was such a badass, empowering moment in the video and Sephira thought that was just so cool.

But when I had to knit-pick all of the details that make it come together, my brain hurt😅😵💫 . I know you might not believe me (my mother didn’t!), but this shirt was arguably more difficult to draft than Sephira’s Helium/Life on Mars outfit in its entirety! I’m not kidding!
Read MoreThis year marks my 10th year blogging at Sew Chibi Designs!!! 🥳🥳🥳 I don’t think I could have ever imagined all the things I would create, the friendships I would make, and the way I developed my not only my sewing skills but my photography, photo editing, pattern drafting, graphics making, sewing tutorial e-booking from non-existent to things I’m really proud of!!!
I already went into major detail about both Azriella’s outfit and Sephira’s outfit, so, for this post, I’m going to focus on Akira’s outfit and the group shots I got of them at the Rose Garden.

Read MoreAnother Easter passed during the pandemic! Last year was a really bizarre one for everyone, us included, but after a year of self-quarantining, we learned how to make the best of things! I wanted to do something colorful but in a different way than I’d done in the past. Originally, the plan was holographic vinyl and neon elastic cording and white but I found it impossible to find colorful cording that wasn’t super skinny (and that was just not the look I was going for!). So I ended up having to quickly change up some of my plans!

Read MoreThis week, the challenge was to design and create something entirely from your preexisting stash of fabrics! I wanted to make some really sweet, super playful and girly looks! The fashion I like to make my kiddos is reflective of their bubbly and silly personalities: bright, diverse, and, most importantly, with a sense of humor. So for my 4 year old, I wanted to make something that I knew she would love: 🍦Ice Cream🍦! To pair up with the chartreuse neoprene, I wanted the ice cream part to be bubblegum pink. I looked to my stash for a print that would complement those two colors and chose a pink floral (as well as a matching pinkish red polka-dot cotton fabric) for an outfit for my 6-year-old. "Where are these girls (in these dresses) going?" Brunch! These two little ladies are getting all dressed up for a Sunday afternoon in downtown Portland, in one of the many hipster neighborhoods, the Hawthorne district, enjoying some eats and stopping at a few shops along the way! So that's why I decided to call this week: Ice Cream and Sundays (pun intended! 😊)

Read MoreThe Vivie Dress PDF Pattern by Blaverry. The Vivie was actually the first Blaverry pattern I ever bought! I was searching frantically for a first day of school dress to make for Azriella the day before school was set to start! I found the Vivie, fell in love with the Blaverry patterns on a whole and it is one of my favorite, everyday dresses for Azriella at this age. It just fits her so well! I never blogged it because I was busy making her birthday dress then the cavalcade of Halloween sewing so I never got a chance to give it a proper photo-shoot!

We're constantly checking off our seasonal bucket list so I blame that for my breaks between posts 😁 I decided on a whim, last minute, to partake in Kids Clothes Week this spring! I recently flipped out when I found that my favorite sewing book, A Sunny Spot, just put out the newest edition a couple of weeks ago. I decided to freak out and immediately order it (and another little pattern book) from Amazon Japan.
